Hi and welcome to my corner of the Internet.
This will be a quick run-down of what I am planning to fill this page with, I will have a separate 'about me' section, in order to keep this brief. During my undergraduate degree I had a zoology blog and whilst I was somewhat inconsistent in posting, it was something I very much enjoyed. Recently, I have missed writing articles just because something interests me and so I thought I would start up again. Since moving away from zoology as my main area of study, I wanted a page that would give me the freedom to cover all subjects (under the umbrella of science) and let me just follow my interests as and when they change. It is highly likely that plant science will feature heavily (as it is my main area of study) but hopefully there will also be articles on a variety of topics, including zoology, climate change, and current scientific issues. I may also write a few more personal posts on life as a PhD student and if I get really distracted don't be too shocked by a post on the science of brewing the perfect coffee or making a smoky whisky. I have a habit of writing too much, so I am aiming to keep each article medium-short (~1000-1500 words) to make them digestible and as a way of practice succinct writing. I also hope to keep the tone more on the side of informal rather than too heavy or clinical. However, I understand that it can take a while before really finding a style that works, so I welcome any and all feedback on what people enjoy reading and how the articles could be improved. Anyway, thanks for stumbling across my page, I hope you find something that interests you.
